An autumn look at the capital of Hungary
The capital of Hungary has been called the Paris of the East, and in autumn when the trees are boughed in fiery plumage and the many cafes’ coffee-sipping patrons turn up wearing sweaters it’s not hard to see why. Like Paris’ River Seine, there’s also a love affair around Budapest’s gently rippling Danube. One of the best ways to view it is by strolling over its waters on the famed Széchenyi Chain Bridge. But you can also get a taste for Budapest by roaming its streets, past its elegant architecture and peering inside its vibrant shops. And what better season to do that than fall?
